Giving you something to read!

Okay, so I realize I've not put up any postings for a couple of weeks, what with a water pipe exploding in the house, a storm putting my phone line down, just my 19th nervous breakdown etc. And yes, I have let some people down. I am hoping the chaos is dying down long enough for me to be more coherent (inasmuch as I ever am!) in the aftermath of my job loss - July 14th, folks! I've read a number of those books. Of course some of them YOU recommended to me. (Flashman, Grace and Favor, the Dream Park series, Master Li, Lord Darcy, The Oath of Swords and its sequels)I'm still looking for the Walter Jon Williams.

What's the book where the kids release the carnivorous sheep to protect the farm?

I've been reading 'The night the bear ate Goombah' by Patrick F. MacManus and laughed so hard I cried.

You need to specify Sherlock Holmes BY Arthur Conan Doyle or you'll get the awful fanfic Seven Percent Solution and West End Horror or any other Holmes 'novel' published by permission.

I agree that the GRE ranks as horror. It was way worse than the LSAT.

My favorite Dickens was 'A Tale of Two Cities' although I must say I have not read Oliver Twist.

The book you are requesting the title of is `Dark Lord of Derkholm' by Diana Wynn Jones. I did specify Sir Arthur by name, but for the record I consider The West End Horror to be one of the better imitations. I also like `The Beekeeper's Apprentice' and some of its sequels by Laurie King. I have read the McManus. You might want to look up Lewis Grizzard if you like him!
