Dandelion

The dandelion, a gentle flower
Not suited to funeral or wedding bower
Yet a reminder of our halcyon days
First sunshine youth, then wispy greys
Searches, springs up, makes a home
Sends future hopes off to roam
No thorny rose, nor snob crocus
But a cheery bloom a little like us.

Wow. this is awesome marcia. Did you actually write this? You need to seriously consider getting published. I think you may have missed your true calling. Stop looking for a job. Pick up a pen and start writing girl. Ther e may be a whole book in you!

I've never believed dandelions were weeds.

Though here in Tucson, the dandelions (or their nearest local relatives) have thorns, so aren't quite so gentle after all!
